Our husbands are veteran NYC commuters so this is an area we know well. The biggest and most exciting news in commuter land are the new double decker trains that greatly improve ones odds of getting a seat! But before you get that cushy seat you can stop in the little coffee shop at the station and get your cup of Joe and the paper for the ride.
As for parking, in Princeton there are two choices: parking at the “Dinky” lot which is owned by Princeton University or parking at Princeton Junction. If you park at the Dinky you take a short five minute “Dinky” ride to Princeton Junction and connect to the NYC express train. If you park at Princeton Junction you will get directly on the express train. Another option is Hamilton station. Passes for all of the lots are issued on a first come first serve basis so the sooner you get your application in the better. All of the lots have metered parking as well.
