A Million Plus…

September 7, 2012

It is always a little sad to see summer go, but nice in a way to get back to a more predictable schedule.  With the changing of the leaves, crisp cool air and football season all just around the corner. We thought we’d take a moment to wrap up the summer real estate season for Princeton homes selling in the million plus category.  The high end market has certainly taken a beating over the past few years, but fortunately we are starting to see a small light at the end of the tunnel. This summer in Princeton Township and Princeton Borough 33 homes sold over the  million dollar mark. Out of the 33, only 3 were in the borough and 6 out of the 33 sold for over 2 million. Compare that with summer 2011 in which 29 homes sold for over a million, 8 of those were in the borough and only 3 out of the 29 sold  over the 2 million dollar mark. As always the devil is in the details and we would be happy to delve into more depth with anyone who is interested in getting into the Princeton market! Email us at our fancy new address: moving2princeton@gmail.com and we will answer any questions you might have or set up a time to show you around the area! Stay in the Princeton loop and follow MovingtoPrinceton on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. As always you may also email us at: Skeough@callawayhenderson.comSyltrowbridge@callawayhenderson.com.

Princeton P-rade, Reunions and Commencement

June 2, 2012

This weekend is going to be a fun one in Princeton!  From the famous Princeton University P-rade, Alumni Reunions, to Commencement for The Class of 2012, it is going to be action packed. If you are thinking about moving to the Princeton area this is a nice weekend to visit. The P-rade is an annual parade put on by past Princeton University graduates and is open to the public. It is a favorite for both students and locals as it always proves to be  entertaining and is a great way to see the campus. It begins on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 2:00 on Nassau Street and then winds through campus. Lead by the Princeton University Band and the class currently celebrating their 25th reunion, followed by all the other reunion classes in order of oldest to youngest. It is quite a spectacle and you are guaranteed to see the Princeton colors in every variation known to man plus some VERY creative interpretations! Hope to see you there! Sig&Syl

What’s next?  Spring real estate market results are in and we will give you the skinny in next weeks post!

Pretty on Parkside

March 20, 2012

If the thought of moving in to a home and not having to fix a thing appeals to you, then this is the home for you! A custom Spanish cedar front door welcomes all to this meticulously renovated brick and cedar colonial set on a hill near the Princeton Battlefield. A gracious foyer leads to a large living room and adjacent sunroom. A handsome dining room segues to a stunning kitchen with hand–painted custom cabinetry, mahogany island, and high-end appliances (Subzero, Wolfe, Viking, Miele). The fabulous great room overlooks the park-like yard and, like the rest of the home, enjoys an abundance of natural light. Also on the main floor is a cozy den/office with built-in Murphy bed. Upstairs are four bedrooms, including a master suite with walk-in closet, fireplace, and luxurious bath. The lower level boasts a rec room, laundry room, and wine cellar. From the copper roof and gutters to the custom millwork and fir interior doors with oil-rubbed bronze hardware, this Lewis Barber restoration is truly spectacular. A blue stone patio, stone retaining walls, and petanque court with a second patio complete this magnificent property! Check out the lovely pictures and floorplan at http://www.callawayhenderson.com/listing/NJ/Princeton/188-Parkside-Drive/6022688/2245634. Cheers! Sig&Syl
