If the thought of moving in to a home and not having to fix a thing appeals to you, then this is the home for you! A custom Spanish cedar front door welcomes all to this meticulously renovated brick and cedar colonial set on a hill near the Princeton Battlefield. A gracious foyer leads to a large living room and adjacent sunroom. A handsome dining room segues to a stunning kitchen with hand–painted custom cabinetry, mahogany island, and high-end appliances (Subzero, Wolfe, Viking, Miele). The fabulous great room overlooks the park-like yard and, like the rest of the home, enjoys an abundance of natural light. Also on the main floor is a cozy den/office with built-in Murphy bed. Upstairs are four bedrooms, including a master suite with walk-in closet, fireplace, and luxurious bath. The lower level boasts a rec room, laundry room, and wine cellar. From the copper roof and gutters to the custom millwork and fir interior doors with oil-rubbed bronze hardware, this Lewis Barber restoration is truly spectacular. A blue stone patio, stone retaining walls, and petanque court with a second patio complete this magnificent property! Pi Day Princeton & Geek Freak Weekend
March 8, 2012How about that for a headliner and how about that crazy hair! This truly unique Princeton event is not to be missed. It will be on March 14th as well as the weekend before from March 9th to the 11th. Einstein (one of Princeton’s many famous residents) was born on March 14, 1879. Just so happens that 3 14 is the numeric equivalent of Pi, hence the reason for the date of this celebration. This is the brain child of one of our favorites, the ever-so-fabulous founder of the Princeton Tour Company, Mimi O. There will be free trolley tours, pie-eating contests, an Einstein look-a-like contest (one of our favorites), pi recitation contest (you won’t see me in this one, but maybe Syl), Suzuki violin contest, mathlete contest, Dinky rides with Einstein and much much more. Princeton is an amazing town and it is special events like these that further highlight just how much this community has to offer. If you would like more information please go to www.pidayprinceton.com. Enjoy! Sig&Syl

Thinking of Selling?
February 7, 2012If you are thinking of selling your home this spring, the time to prepare is now! First impressions are everything, be it online or in person. February is the perfect month to start de-cluttering and sprucing up. Statistics show, homes that have been carefully prepared for sale not only spend less time on the market, but also consistently achieve a higher sale price. Here is short list to get you started!
-De-clutter in order to give a more spacious and roomy feel.
-De-personalize by packing away photos and family heirlooms.
-Remove and replace any items you plan to take with you. Say for example; your dining room chandelier is a family heir loom. Take it down and replace it with a suitable fixture. If the buyer never sees it, she/he won’t want it.
-Make minor repairs inside and out.
-Make the house sparkle!
-Pretend you are the buyer and see if you’ve missed anything!
This is just a small sampling of a few of the things that should be completed in order to have a market ready home. We would be happy to come to your home and give you a thorough market evaluation as well as a comprehensive road map on how to get your home ready for sale. We are fortunate to be backed by a world class agency, www.callawayhenderson.com and can provide you with the best marketing, technology and services in the industry!
Cheers,

Happy 2012
January 6, 2012It has been an interesting 2011 and we are looking forward to a good 2012. The housing market is inching back and the Princeton area continues to hold steady. In Princeton the number of units sold was up +8.4% from 2010 and the average sale price increased slightly with +3.3%. Interest rates are at an all time low and rentals at an all time high.
Voters in Princeton Borough and Princeton Township set a precedent in N.J. by voting to consolidate the two towns into a single municipality. This is good news as it is expected to save as much as 3.2 million dollars a year by combining the two governments and services. We are hoping the rest of New Jersey will follow suit and help reduce the debt! It is smart decisions like this that keep Princeton on solid ground now and in the future. All signs point towards 2012 as a great year to buy!
Cheers! Sig&Syl
