It has been an interesting 2011 and we are looking forward to a good 2012. The housing market is inching back and the Princeton area continues to hold steady. In Princeton the number of units sold was up +8.4% from 2010 and the average sale price increased slightly with +3.3%. Interest rates are at an all time low and rentals at an all time high.
Voters in Princeton Borough and Princeton Township set a precedent in N.J. by voting to consolidate the two towns into a single municipality. This is good news as it is expected to save as much as 3.2 million dollars a year by combining the two governments and services. We are hoping the rest of New Jersey will follow suit and help reduce the debt! It is smart decisions like this that keep Princeton on solid ground now and in the future. All signs point towards 2012 as a great year to buy!
Cheers! Sig&Syl
Happy 2012

Coffee Anyone?
September 27, 2011When thinking about moving to a new place there is one rather small,
but very important detail that we feel should not be overlooked. Where is the local coffee hangout? Not the chains, but the place that all of the
locals like to go to meet up with friends, have a chat and find out what’s happening in the community. In Princeton you only need to know three words, Small World Coffee! Owners Jessica Durrie and Brant Cosaboom, opened this vibrant community-centric coffee store in 1993 and
haven’t looked back. It is truly the heart of the Princeton community. Not only is the coffee amazing, roasted locally, but there is often live
music as well as fantastic artwork on display by local artists. You may run into a neighbor, a student, or a world renowned professor.
Honestly, Syl and I wouldn’t know what to do without our daily dose of Small World. Enjoy! Sig & Syl

Farmers’ Markets Galore!
October 7, 2010Fall in Princeton has to be one of our favorite seasons. The beautiful colors and the clean, crisp air make it the perfect time to get out and discover the area’s fabulous farmers’ markets. But where do you start? Well, it just so happens that our friend and colleague, Kim Rizk, just published a fantastic guide book on farmers markets. It is full of all the information you need: Essentials like where to find local produce, meats, poultry, cheese, wine and what’s in season in Central New Jersey. When we pressed her for her favorite markets, she hemmed and hawed, saying things like, “That’s so unfair!” and “My favorite thing of all is checking them all out!” Lucky for us, it’s in her book! Her top three choices are: The West Windsor Farmers Market (Saturday morning), Trenton Farmers Market (Tuesday – Sunday, weekends only during the winter), and Terhune Orchards. She also really likes Gravity Hill Farm because it has some of the most beautiful and unusual produce around and Griggstown Farm Market for all of their great prepared food and free-range poultry. For more information about her book “Farm Markets of Centra New Jersey” check out Kim’s blog at http://www.gcaprincetonlocavores.blogspot.com/ or email her at farmmarketscnj@gmail.com. Happy Shopping! Sig & Syl
